Privacy Policy

Laura Kingston Driver Training is committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining the security of any personal information you choose to share. This is in adherence to the requirements outlined in the data protection legislation within the UK.

What information do I collect from you?

Before and during your first lesson, I will collect your name, personal contact details, licence details, medical or legal history that may affect your ability to drive, and your previous driving experience and learning styles. During the course of lessons, you may choose to share more information with me regarding any of the above topics if it is necessary and appropriate. I will record these details along with your progress lesson by lesson in written format. Any of these details can be made available to you if you request it.

What financial information will I collect?

I will not record any personal financial details for any student, aside from a basic outline of any upfront payments made. If refunds are made by myself, I will require bank details, but they will then be deleted immediately after use.

How long will I keep your information?

Any personal information you send to me electronically (via phone, email or social media) and your contact details, will be deleted as soon as lessons cease. Any written records will be kept for a maximum of four years for tax purposes. However, personal contact info and personal details will be obscured from view. Any conversations electronically will be deleted once lessons cease.

Where will any records be kept?

Any written records will be kept in a safe secured place within my property. To protect any electronic details kept during lessons, I will keep virus security up to date on my devices. My devices are all protected by pin codes. I regularly check and update my privacy policies on social media.

Will any lessons be filmed or photographs taken?

I do not record any lessons electronically. I do not take photographs during lessons. I do ask a student’s permission to take a photograph when they have passed their practical tests, and to share it on social media via my own business page. I will delete this photograph from my phone once it has been shared, but I will retain it on my social media page for advertising purposes, unless the student asks for it to be removed. The photo will not include any personal data about the student aside from their name and the date of their pass.

Will any information be shared with third parties?

I will not sell or rent any data provided to any third parties. I will not provide third parties with any details, other than that which is necessary to provide the service I am required to, and I will always obtain your permission. I will only disclose information if I was legally required to do so. I will not transfer information outside of the European Economic Area. I will not allow any social media outlet to share any information without my permission, and I regularly check and update my privacy policies on social media.

In conclusion, I will control the data I hold from you and it will only be obtained with your permission. You can request to see this information at any point. I will hold the information only for as long as I deem appropriate for the purpose of evidence. I will take any steps I feel are appropriate to prevent any unauthorised or unlawful processing of your data, loss of your data or destruction or damage.
